Hello, I’m Kaela Denny, and I live near Chicago, Illinois. My favorite color is green, but I like to wear a pink suit because it makes me feel even more confident. I am an advocate for the disability community, and have multiple different disabilities myself. Some of them are autism, ADHD, and a nonverbal learning disability.

Being disabled is a part of the natural human experience and I have learned to use my disabilities as a strength. I am an Illinois Partners in Policymaking Class Four Graduate, which is sponsored by the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities. This certification has helped my advocacy greatly in giving me knowledge of policy making. I regularly talk to senators and state representatives on disability policies. I believe it is very important to be talking and listening to the voices of the disability community as these individuals, like myself, will change the future and our understanding of disability as a whole.

In my free time I like to spend time with my family and do diamond painting. I love my 14 year old Cockapoo named Dobby and always enjoy animals. I also like to listen to pop music and watch lots of movies, especially Disney.
